SALINAS, Calif- Police have arrested two people in connection with a homicide that happened on Teton Avenue Thursday night. Including the sister of the guy who was killed.
Police say the crime scene spanned two blocks but the shooting happened near the intersection of Teton Ave. and Glacier Drive.
Police were able to track down the house where the shooting happened on the 1400 block of Teton Avenue. Police found 26-year-old Juan Hernandez dead at the scene, he was shot several times.
Police found a second victim near the intersection of Teton Ave. and Rainier Drive who had also been shot several times. He was treated at the hospital and released.
Later a third victim, 19-year-old Jose Sebastian, showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated and eventually transported by ground ambulance to a bay area hospital. He is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Based on witness statements, police believe that Hernandez and Sebastian showed up at the second victim's house to collect on a debt with guns drawn. The second shooting victim wrestled the gun away from Hernandez and a shoot out occurred, said police.
Police have arrested 21-year-old Noemi Hernandez, the homicide victim's sister, and charged her with murder. According to police, she drove them to the house to collect the money. Police have also arrested Sebastian and charged him with murder, conspiracy, and gang enhancement.
This case is being investigated as gang related.
