Salinas Police Investigating a Shooting Into a Vehicle

Salinas, Calif. - Police are searching for whoever fired shots at a parked car in a driveway at a home in Salinas.

It happened on the 700 block of Towt Street, just before midnight on Monday.

Salinas Police say a 17-year old male was inside a home when he heard about 5 gunshots. Police say when the victim went outside to investigate, he found his car had been hit by several bullets. The car was unoccupied, and no one was injured.

The victim denies any gang associations, and could offer no motive for the shooting.

An anonymous witness reported seeing a suspicious red pickup in the area just prior to the shooting. Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related.
