UPDATE: Cement Truck Overturned On Highway 1 North of Morrissey, All Lanes Open

UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: According to CHP all lanes of Highway 1 are now open.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif- Two lanes of Northbound Highway 1 were closed north of Morrissey as crews tried to get a truck carrying 30,000 lbs of cement off the roadway, said the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported just after 9 a.m. north of the Morrissey Exit. The driver of the truck was the only one injured in the accident. It took crews about 30 minutes to rescue him from the overturned truck. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries, said the fire department.
