CAPITOLA, Calif - Capitola Police arrested a registered sex offender Wednesday after a 17-year-old girl complained the man was following her.
According to Capitola Police, Aaron Wagner, 41, followed the teen around the Capitola Village on two different occassions. Officers say on June 15th Wagner approached the girl and asked her if she wanted to hang out with him. After she refused, he followed her home where an adult confronted him.
During the second incident, officers say Wagner followed the girl while she was at Capitola Beach. The teen tried to swim along the beach in order to avoid him, but when she got out of the water Wagner continued to follow her.
The teen told a family acquaintance, who spotted Wagner and called police. Wagner was previous convicted for lewd acts with a 14-year-old. Officers arrested him for felony violation of annoying a juvenile.
