SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas Police responded to a report of a fight between three men. The victim was robbed and beaten with a baseball bat.

It happened Sunday around 2:00 a.m. near the Winchell's Donut Shop by N. Sanborn and E. Alisal Street. The victim was approached by two Hispanic men between 18-20 years old. Police say the two men demanded money from the victim and when he told them he didn't have any the suspects started to beat him in the face and back with a baseball bat.

The two men got away and the victim sustained moderate injuries.
