SALINAS, Calif.--Businesses Are Expanding in Salinas. More stores opening up downtown could mean the economy is starting to get better.
On Saturday Tony's Jewelry had their grand opening. It's the fourth store opened in Salinas. Their new location is in downtown Salinas off Monterey Street.
The owner says despite a tough economy the jewelry business is doing well after gold sales have been increasing."Even though the economy is bad we're here, we have to invest our way out of a bad economy so here we are today to give the best service in town," said Tony De La Torre.
According to the Old town Salinas Association more than 44 business have opened downtown in the last year.
