ST. PAUL, Minnesota - A surprising twist in the race for the White House. Presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney may be the all but official republican nominee but Congressman Ron Paul scored a victory in Minnesota.
Ron Paul picked up twelve more delegates to the GOP National Convention in August. It means the congressman could get more influence over the party platform.
Ron Paul is a libertarian who supports Republican drive for spending cuts but he wants deeper cuts in foreign aid than most party members support. Paul also wants United State troops to pull out of Afghanistan immediately.
According to the website, Real Clear Polotics, Romney has 989 delegates and Paul has 104. 1,144 delegates are needed to win the nomination.
