Soledad Police Arrest Robbery Suspects

SOLEDAD, Calif - Soledad Police arrested two men for robbing a market at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

According to Soledad Police Chief Eric Sills, Jorge Jasso, 19, and James Hernandez, 21, walked ino the  La Placita Market on the 300 block of Front Street just after 1:00 p.m.  The suspects ordered the clerks to the ground,  grabbed money from the cash registers and then  ran away.  

Officers found the suspects a short time from witness descriptions of the getaway car. Officers from the cities of Soledad and Greenfield, with the assistance of the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the Monterey County Gang Task Force, conducted two probation searches on residences located in the City of Soledad.  During one of the searches James Hernandez was arrested as he attempted to runaway from the scene. 

Both were booked into Monterey County Jail for armed robbery and gang enhancements.
