Salinas Teens Busted for Sawed Off Shotgun and Meth Pipe

SALINAS, Calif - Salinas Police arrested a 16-year-old known gang member for having a weapon and drug paraphernalia Monday afternoon.

Salinas Police Department Violence Suppression Unit officers were on patrol in the area of 1100 North  Sanborn Road, when the suspect entered a carport and saw a patrol vehicle. The teen quickly exited the carport and started talking to a nearby 15-year-old boy.

Officers found a sawed off shotgun under a vehicle near where the teen was. Officers also found burglary tools and a meth pipe on the 15-year-old.

The 16 year old, a  known  gang member,  admitted to concealing the shotgun when he saw the patrol car. Officers booked him into juvenile hall for firearm and burglary tool charges. The 15-year- old was issued a citation and released to his parents.
