SEASIDE, Calif. -- If you were to see Letitia Bundy one year ago, you wouldn't see her outside with her 3 year old daughter Bethany, playing.
You'd see her inside, getting high on heroin.
"I couldn't be a mom at all. I couldn't function to take care of my child or anything." says Letitia Bundy.
Letitia was addicted to heroin. She said the moment her boyfriend took their daughter away from her, she knew it was time for change.
"I finally realized that I needed to get clean and I needed to do it for myself first before I could do it for my child." Bundy says.
With some help, she found herself at the Genesis Center, where she's going through treatment, counseling and training.
"When I got here, the only thing I wanted to do was know how not to use. It's done so much more for me. They've advocated for me to get my child back, my whole mindset, my behavior, everything." Bundy says.
It helped Letitia and everyone else you see here.
They called it hope for anyone seeking to overcome drug addiction.
"We do believe in the magic of recovery. People do recover and it is possible. When it seems hopeless, it's not." says Robin McCrae with the Genesis House.
But Genesis House needs your help.
It needs to raise $100,000 to fix up bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, and to improve services.
"It inspires hope for us and also inspires hope for the rest of the clients." Kevin Williams with Genesis House tells Central Coast News.
