LOMPOC- Parents put the new school food to the test!
They've been cooking from scratch at Buena Vista Elementary in Lompoc for two months
A new kitchen, new training and fresh new food thanks to the School Food Initiative through the Orfalea Foundation!
The new smells coming from the kitchen are incredible! The problem is, for some, the thought of the old school food still leaves a bad taste.
The school is working to market the new meals. Parents must buy into the program for it to be financially healthy.
It's working! The stigma of a bad school lunch is being lifted! In fact, more parents are buying in to the program.
At this Lompoc school, lunch sales have almost doubled!
