Sierra Lamar's Classmates Start Fund, Sell T-Shirts

MORGAN HILL - Friday marks one week since a 15-year-old Morgan Hill girl disappeared.

Sierra Lamar was last seen before she left for school.

"It's been so long just every day we just want to know if she's ok," said Shanice Washington, one of her close friends. "Every day it gets harder."

It's probably not a stretch to say that every day has been agony for Washington.

Lamar is her good friend -- they are on cheer team together.

And like so many others, Washington is praying to hear some good news about Lamar.

"Seven days is a really long time to not contact anyone that you know. It's not like her," she said. "I just hope she's ok and safe and I'm always just trying to do more and more everyday."

Today Washington and other students at Ann Sobrato High School started collecting donations and selling these T-shirts with Lamar's face on them.

Not only do the students not want attention to fade as the days pass, they also want to get a reward together for any information that would bring Lamar back home.

Whether that type of motivation is needed in this situation or not, it is obvious that doing something helps these students cope right now.

"Doing this makes me feel better because I'm doing something for her and let her know I care about her," Washington said, choking back tears.

The Santa Clara County's Search and Rescue crews will continue searching for Lamar on Saturday.

This time, they're searching a 12-mile radius of her home.
