Missing Teen's Father is Registered Sex Offender, But Not A Person of Interest

MORGAN HILL, Calif. - Central Coast News has learned a missing Morgan Hill teen's father, is a registered sex offender.  Steve Lamar was convicted of lewd acts with a child under 14 years of age.

Deputies say that Lamar is NOT a person of interest and he has been fully cooperative since the beginning of the investigation.

This comes after Santa Clara County Sheriff's Deputies announced they're speaking to registered sex offenders in the county, in an effort to find Sierra Lamar. Deputies say they're speaking with sex offenders to find out where they were when the 15-year-old disappeared. There are approximately 267 active registrants in the Southern Santa Clara County area, said deputies.

Forensic examinations of Sierra's cell phone and computer are still being conducted for possible information beneficial to the case.
