MONTEREY, Calif. - A packed house this afternoon at the Apple Store in Monterey as people came to check out or buy the new iPAD that hit store shelves this morning.

People said there were lines this morning before the store opened but it cleared up as the day progressed. As of this afternoon, the new iPAD was not sold out at the store in Del Monte Shopping Center.

The third version of the Apple product comes with a faster processor and a much sharper screen. It also has an improved camera similar to the one in the latest iPHONE.

At a base price of almost five hundred dollars, the new iPAD is cheaper than one share of Apple, which hit six hundred dollars earlier this week.
