SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif - The Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force, along with several other agencies arrested 11 people after probation and parole compliance checks throughout the northern part of Santa Cruz County Thursday.
The GTF, along with the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team, Santa Cruz Police Department, Capitola Police Department, Watsonville Police Department, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Homeland Security Investigations attempted to contact 55 suspect identified as being on probation or parole and have a history or association with criminal street gangs.
Of the 55 attempted contacts, officers were able to contact and/or search the homes of 25. Of the 25 locations searched, agents found16 suspects to be in compliance with their terms of probation or parole. Nine were found to violation of their terms and arrested. In five other cases agents seized evidence showing the suspects were in violation of their probation or parole terms, but were not home at the time.
During the search of Jesus Herrera's residence, officers found a small amount of heroin, evidence he was distributing heroin, and a loaded .25 caliber handgun. He was booked into county jail for the addition charges of possession of heroin for sale, possession of a firearm while in possession of heroin, and a gang crime.
During the search of Thomas Parrish, 44, officers found an electronic stun gun and arrested Laurie Soderman, 46, for an outstanding felony petty theft arrest warrant.

11) 23 year-old Fermin Lopez of Santa Cruz - Under the Influence of a Narcotic
