Scott's Valley is the home to some of the most stylish electric vehicles in the world.
They're called the Zero Motorcycles.
They're completely electric- an option more people are looking at with sky high gas prices.
"It's approximately one cent per mile to operate for the energy costs. Translate that? Try 487 miles per gallon equivalent. That's what you get out of an electric motorcycle. That's a lot of miles per gallon!" said Vice President of Global Marketing Scot Harden.
If you choose this ride, you're also buying local. The whole bike is built in a Zero's Scott's Valley shop.
"We take a great deal of pride in the fact we're an American based company. A lot of the stuff is our own design. It's our technology. And we can put the stamp on it of engineered, designed, and assembled right here in America," said Harden.
Harden said, for all intensive purposes, the electric motorcycles are pretty comparable to the real deal.
"For sure there is the Harley rider out there. The Cruiser rider out there. You will probably never be seeing them riding an electric bike or they'll drop dead before they will. And that's good because if more people ride our bikes, there will be more oil for them left to continue to ride their bikes as well," said Harden.
A fast new ride you might consider when you're thinking about your next "green" purchase.
