San Benito Sheriff's Deputy Under Investigation for DUI - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

HOLLISTER, Calif - A San Benito County Sheriff's Deputy is under investigation for DUI out of Alameda, said Sheriff Darren Thompson.

According to Sheriff Thompson, a criminal investigation and a personnel investigation are ongoing in the matter, surrounding an unnamed deputy.

"We are very disturbed by this event, and we are determined to hold staff members accountable for their actions, Sheriff Thompson said in a news release. "After the completion of a thorough personnel investigation, the appropriate personnel action will be taken."

The deputy involved has been placed on administrative leave, and will not return to work while the matter is pending.
