15 people displaced following Monterey apartment fire

MONTEREY, Calif. -- 15 people were evacuated and placed in housing in Pacific Grove after an early morning fire at their Monterey apartment complex.

According to the Monterey fire department, crews responded to a fire at the Olympia Pines apartment complex at 433 Casa Verde Way a little after midnight Tuesday morning.  Four apartment units were affected, and the fire was contained about two hours later.

35 firefighters from the City of Monterey, Seaside, Presidio of Monterey, Monterey County Regional Fire, Monterey Peninsula Airport, and Cypress Fire Protection Unit assisted in the effort.  No injuries were reported.
