SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Santa Cruz Police say they had to chase a man who ran off while they tried to talk to him about his probation drug testing.
On Saturday afternoon, police went to the 200 block of Sylvania Avenue to find 25 year old, Jose Godoy. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and ran off. Police say he also tried to throw 10 grams of suspected heroin on the roof of a nearby business.
Police eventually caught up to Godoy on the 100 block of Harvey West Boulevard and he was taken into custody.
Godoy was arrested for possession of suspected heroin for sales, destruction of evidence, a probation violation, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and committing a felony while released on bail.
