SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - A brief car chase Friday afternoon ended with the arrest of a Capitola man.
Santa Cruz police say they tried to stop a car near Ocean Street at Broadway. The driver, Tristan Pardee, reportedly didn't stop until East Cliff Drive at Mott Avenue.
Police say they saw Pardee attempt to crush what appeared to be methamphetamine with his foot. When police searched his car, they found a stolen laptop and other digital equipment. They also found 6.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Pardee was out on bail for his arrest on earlier this month for possession of narcotics. He was arrested Friday for transportation of suspected methamphetamine, for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and destruction of evidence.
