Salad Bar Etiquette Class

Posted: Updated:

LOMPOC - Thanks to the School Food Initiative some Central Coast schools are getting shiny new salad bars, but first they get a new etiquette class to make sure it's safe!

Two elementary schools in Lompoc are pilot schools testing new healthy school food. The change brings a colorful gift! A brand new salad bar. "It's like waiting for Christmas and finally opening the present and it's beautiful" says Diane Burton, Principal at Buena Vista Elementary School in Lompoc.

A beautiful gift from the Orfalea foundation.

A school assembly serves an important safety lesson first.

Students learn to always wash their hands, use utensils not fingers, be polite, and only take what you can eat.

Getting smart about the possibility of spreading germs to make sure the healthy food is safe food!
