Girlfriend, Children of Accused Salinas Child Molester Found

SALINAS, Calif- After launching an investigation over child abuse allegations against Rene Cruz, police say that Cruz and his girlfriend, Nelida Vega Gaytan, took off with the couple's three kids.

Monday morning Gaytan walked into the Salinas Police station with her children and her attorney, said police. Gayton was questioned by police and later released. Her children were taken into protective custody and released to Child Protective Services.

Police are still looking for Cruz. It is believed that he may be in a white 2000 GMC SUV, California license plate, 5CTV217.
