SALINAS, Calif.- Saturday morning Salinas police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute that turned into a standoff.
When officers arrived, they found Negranza's wife outside the house. Negranza would not come to the door when officers knocked.
Officers opened the screen door and the front door with a key. The door was still secured by the chain. Officer called out to Negranza and he became even angrier and slammed the door.
When officers knocked again, Negranza opened the screen door and pointed a revolver at the officers.
The officers took cover and set a perimeter around the house. Salinas SWAT Team was called in for back up. Several residences and a church were evacuated on Calle Cebu.
Salinas police attempted to call Negranza out of the house, after a few calls, there were shots fired inside the house.
After about an hour, Negranza came out on the porch, but refused to cooperate and went back into the house. Again, police were able to contact Negranza on his cell phone and he agreed to come outside after locking his house.
Once Negranza was outside, police said he again refused to follow orders and claimed that he was experiencing chest pains. Police said Negranza refused to walk out to officers saying that his chest hurt, but he kept stepping on and off of the porch.
Then, police said Negranza tried to re-enter the residence officers deployed multiple long range impact projectiles, or foam bullets knockin Negranza to the ground. Negranza got up and turned back to his house as officers approached as officers tackled him off of the porch.
After the two hour standoff, Negranza was taken to a local hospital where doctors confirmed he had a heart attack. Negranza has a pre-existing heart condition.
Officers searched the home and found his revolver and several other pellet guns.
Negranza is being charged with multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, resisting arrest, reckless discgharge of a firearm and the outstanding arrest warrant of domestic violence.

SALINAS, Calif. - Calle Cebu and Sun Street are back open today after a standoff closed them down for much of the morning.
Police were called to the scene for a domestic disturbance call. Police say when they arrived, a man shut the door in an officers face and when the man opened the door again, he pointed a revolver at the officers face.
The swat team then moved in and they were take down the man with foam bullets. He is now at the hospital.
