SALINAS, Calif- Police say that Rene Cruz has been on the lam with his girlfriend and two kids for at least a week. Cruz is accused of molesting a child at his girlfriend's daycare.
Police have now released a picture of Nelida Vega Gaytan, Cruz's girlfriend, in hopes of finding the family. The couple has two small children and police believe that the kids may also be victims.
As of now Gayton is just wanted for questioning for child endangerment.
It is believed that Cruz, Gaytan, and their two daughters are in a white 2000 GMC SUV, California license plate 5CTV217 or a red 2011 Toyota Tundra, California license plate 38897C1.
Cruz and Gaytan's 9-year-old daughter is described as a Hispanic female, 4'2", 55-60 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. Their 5-year-old daughter is described as a Hispanic female, 3'11", 45lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who may not have seen Cruz, Gaytan, or their two daughters, but knows personal information about them or their family, is encouraged to contact the police immediately. The Salinas Police Department still considers the children to be at risk.
