SALINAS, Calif - A judge sentenced a Seaside man convicted of possessing child pornography to two years in prison Tuesday.
George Bastian, 65, will also be required to register as a sex offender for life upon his release, said Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo.
In March 2010, Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), successfully downloaded from the internet 10 video files depicting prepubescent children being sexually molested. The video files were traced back to Bastian's home computer in Seaside. A search of his home led to the discovery of additional computer files depicting children being molested, including over 230 still images and 40 video files.
On November 15, 2011, Bastian pled guilty to one felony count of distribution of child pornography, one felony count of possession of child pornography and one felony count of possession of methamphetamine.
