SEASIDE, Calif.- How upset are you with the current economy?
One Central Coast man is so angry, he posted a video to our Facebook page to share his story.
"I did what you said Mr. President, I went and got re-trained."
He still doesn't have a job. Now, he's trying to spread that message across the country, to inspire change.
Mark Williams has been reaching out to CNN, You Tube, BBC, and even some major political players' websites. He said it's gotten to the point of desparation and he wants someone to hear him.
"Somebody has got to listen."
That's why Williams and his friends are doing a grassroots video campaign. Telling their stories and posting it to every influential facebook page and website they can think of.
"To me its getting personal, I have zero dollars coming."
Williams lives with and takes care of his mother in Seaside. He said since 2009 work has been almost non-existent. He is part of a union and is a heavy equipment operator.
Williams said there are projects to do and workers to get them done, but the federal government is holding the money hostage and it's impacting people like him.
"People aren't listening they care less...As long as they're working that's another world...This is another world...As long as there are other people working it's all great don't care about a guy like me."
Wlliams wants the video to go viral because he knows he's not alone. Re-trained in different skills for different job opportunities and still there is nothing. Williams said he doesn't want hand-outs, but wants to make money on his own. The ex-con doesn't want to go back to the lifestyle he left so long ago.
"I'm not going back to what I used to do cause it's not fashionable for a 50 year old man to run your neighborhood again because I will if it gets that bad," said Williams.
Williams said the Occupy movement is a waste of time. But he does believe in pushing your message in a public forum and hopes others will do the same.
