Police: Accused Child Molester Leaves With Two Young Daughters

SALINAS, Calif- Police are looking for an accused child molester who may have ran away with his girlfriend and two kids, said police. Rene Cruz is wanted on an $800,000 warrant for child molestation.

Rene Cruz and his girlfriend, Nelida Vega Gayton, lived at a home on the 700 block of Yucatan Way. Police say Gayton ran a daycare out of her home four years ago. One on the children, now 11-years-old, came forward to police and said that she was molested by Cruz.

Police believe that the couple's children, ages five and nine, may also be victims.

It is believed that the family is in a white 2000 GMC SUV, California license plate 5CTV217 or a red 2011 Toyota Tundra, California license plate 38897C1.  Cruz is described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" in height, 160lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

Cruz and Gayton's 9-year-old daughter is described as a Hispanic female, 4'2", 55-60 lbs, black hair and brown eyes.  Their 5-year-old daughter is described as a Hispanic female, 3'11", 45lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
