Santa Cruz, Calif. - Thirteen people were arrested Friday during a probation and parole compliance check.
Several agencies participated in the sweep. Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force got support from the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, Capitola Police Department, the Santa Cruz Police Department, the Watsonville Police Department, and the Santa Cruz Regional 911 Center fanned out across the Southern part of Santa Cruz County.
Thirty officers worked to make contact with people on the list. Six were found to be in violation of their parole terms and arrested. Of those 6, one was arrested on an additional charge. Five more were found to be in violation of their probation terms and arrested. Two of those 5 were arrested for additional crimes. Two others, who were associates of those in the sweep, were also arrested.
In addition, Alejandro Souza, and his girlfriend Daisy Leonor were found to be in possession of credit cards that had been reported stolen from a Capitola woman a day earlier. Those cards had apparently been used at a local store and that merchandise was found at Souza's residence.
