A: Ken from Royal Oaks asked us, "What route will the proposed high speed train take to be able to travel through Gilroy?"
Last month, Gilroy proposed two station locations: one in downtown and the other east of the Gilroy outlets shopping center. The high speed rail line is planned to go from Gilroy to San Jose and up the San Francisco Peninsula.
The high speed train will then travel south through Gilroy, east through the Pacheco Pass to Chowchilla and north to Merced.
Gilroy is estimated to have 4,700 boardings a day. It could bring in $12 million a year to the city.
