High Speed Chase Puts Four in the Hospital

SALINAS, Calif--

The Monterey County Sheriff's Department is investigating a high speed pursuit that put four people in the hospital, Sunday.  It happened around 1:00 a.m. in Salinas.

Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull over the driver of a green Honda for a driving with its high beams on, when the driver sped off.  It ended when the suspect hit another car at Williams Road and Garner Avenue, ramming into a telephone pole.  Both suspects in the car had to be flown to the Bay area with major injuries.  Two people in the other car also had minor injuries.

Deputies say the chase was gang related and believe the green Honda was stolen.
