Boulder Creek Army Reservist Competes For 2012 Miss California

Posted: Updated:
Boulder Creek native, Denise Berry, joined Central Coast News this morning to share her story about the race to become Miss California 2012.

The 24-year-old, Army Reservist, has already conquered college and working as a medic in Iraq for 400 days, but has found the world of pageantry has a tough and pricey one.

Denise decided two months ago she wanted to try for the 2012 title of Miss California and now is trying to raise the funds that come along with the title.

She just recently raised two thousands dollars for the entry fees but is still trying to find the money for clothes, hair, and travel.

Denise is hoping she can have the money by January 6th when she'll head down to Palm Desert to compete along with 400 girls from the golden state for the title of Miss California 2012.
