SANTA CRUZ, Calif- There are no exact numbers yet because officials have only just started keeping track. However, they do say it will be expensive. County officials said that because the expense for cleanup is not included in the annual budget, the cost will be passed on to you.
Central Coast News reporter Susanne Brunner asked protesters at Occupy Santa Cruz what they thought about the tax payers having to pay for Occupy Santa Cruz. "We're not trying to spend people's money. We're already upset about our money being spent the wrong ways." said Libby Rembert.
Other protesters said that they don't even know why the county needs to spend money on cleanup when the protesters are already cleaning up after themselves.
"This area is really clean, there's no trash, there's no garbage, so I'm not sure what kind of clean up they're talking about," said Tom Fordham.
