This KION question comes from Kimberly Jacobs in Prunedale.
She asked, "What's going on with the Jacks Peak Zipline Proposal in Monterey County?"
A: The project is in the negotiations phase between Monterey County and a company called Ziptrek Ecotours.
Monterey County said the proposal consists of a series of ziplines which move quickly into the areas of Jacks Peak Park that are currently impossible for most visitors to reach.
Officials hope it will be a big boost for tourism and the economy.
But that's the problem for people living around the park.
Some Monterey residents are concerned they'll lose the peace and quiet of the nature in the park caused by the commotion of the new venture.
"This is what makes Monterey very special. I mean, where can you find such a beautiful place you can call, almost, your own private park?" said Greg Eshete.
County officials are in the process of testing out ziplines to make sure they don't make excessive noise or disturb the wildlife.
