Two Teens Shot in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif - Two teens were shot while walking home on the 1200 block of Nogal Street Wednesday night.

 The victims, a 17 year-old male, a 19 year-old male, and a 23 year-old male, were standing on the sidewalk talking to some friends in a vehicle, Salinas Police said.

 The victims were approached by a lone male gunman walking toward them from Amarillo Dr. The suspect  then pointed a handgun at them and fired.   The 17-year-old was struck in the face and  the 19-year-old  in the upper back as he ran away.  The 23-year-old was not hit. 

 The two victims  did not suffer life threatening injuries and were treated at a local hospital. 

 The suspect ran away back towards Amarillo St.  He was described as a Hispanic male, about 18-to-19-years-old, wearing a black hoodie and a dark colored beenie cap. 

Salinas Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related.
