Police: Monterey High School Parent Attacks Coach With Axe Handle

MONTEREY, Calif- Police arrested a 40-year-old man after he allegedly went to the football field and beat the coach with an axe handle, Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that Raynald Adams, a parent of a Monterey High School student, went to the football field just after 1 pm and made threatning statements to one of the football coaches. Adams then took the axe handle and hit the coach several times, said police.

The coach did not need any medical treatment.

Adams was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a school official, possession of a dangerous weapon, being on school grounds without registering and possession a weapon on school grounds.
