MARINA, Calif - A group of local dancers are stepping up for a good cause. A Marina based, non-profit organization called Spector Dance is competing in a national contest to win $50,000 to help save our ocean.
Right now, the ladies from Spector Dance are in second place out of hundreds, potentially thousand of entrants competing for the top prize.
The organization has produced a dance piece in collaboration with the research scientists of MBARI (Mty Bay Aquarium Research Institute). It is designed to educate audiences about the health of the world's oceans. With interviews of ocean experts as the back drop, it is performed by our professional dance company and includes original music, and rarely seen deep see footage.
Anyone can help these local ladies win big for our community. Voting goes until September 13th.
