SANTA CRUZ, Calif- Santa Cruz Fire Department responded to a report of an unknown type fire located on the hillside below houses on Rockridge Lane Saturday night.

When crews arrived on scene the found a fire that had started on the grassy hillside of the quarry. The fire burned approximately 40' by 70' and did not threaten any structures.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
