Officials Investigate Wildland Fire in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Cali - Santa Cruz Fire responded to a report of an unknown type fire located on the hillside below houses on Rockridge Lane around 9:40 pm on Saturday.

Fire units arrived at the scene to find a vegetation fire in grass fuels on the hillside. Crews say the fire was spreading slowly.

The fire was about 40 feet by 70 feet and did not threaten any structures. Three fire trucks and 12 firefighters were able to put out the blaze. The start of the fire is under investigation.
