Q: Who Is In Charge Of Salinas' Memorial Rose Garden?

A: Lisa from Salinas wrote in because she was concerned about the dying and dry flowers in Salinas' Central Park rose garden. She asked, "who is responsible for caring for the new rose garden at Central Park?"

Many people attended the Memorial Day dedication ceremony several weeks ago. Through donations-- the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 31, the Chamber's leadership group and volunteers restored the garden, which was first planted in 1944 to remember fallen soldiers.

According to the leadership group, this is to be expected as the new flowers are under a lot of stress, especially mid-season. Many people are watching the garden like the local landscape company to the leadership group and the American Legion. They are also working with the City of Salinas to make sure the flowers get enough water.@
