Friends of Bryan Stow React To Arrest

Posted: Updated:

SANTA CRUZ, Calif - Sunday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department made an arrest in the Bryan Stow case. Central Coast News talked to Stow's roommate and community members who knew him. They had mixed reactions. Some were ecstatic about the development, and others didn't want to give another ounce of their energy to the suspects.

Danny Simon has known Bryan Stow for 25 years. They were roommates when the attack happened. When he got the news about the arrest this morning, he was surprised.

"Because it's been seven weeks, and it seems like the longer it went on the less likely they'd find somebody," Simon said.

Simon and community members at St. John's Catholic Church in Felton where Stow's mother works never gave up hope.

"We were hopeful that the two [suspects] would be apprehended and now that we know one of them was, we were elated. We were very pleased they finally got one of them," said John Aguilar with the church.

Central Coast News talked to a parishioner who said, "The fact that they caught one is a step to catching all of them and I really feel good they were able to catch him."

"Somehow, someway. [The suspects] were going to get caught. Maybe not for this, but for something else," said Simon.
