Accident Has Part of Reservation Road Blocked

MARINA, Calif- Reservation Road has reopened following a two vehicle accident. For a time, Monday afternoon, the road was closed in both directions between Davis Road and East Garrison.

According to the CHP web site the accident happened at 3:52 p.m. on Panziera at Reservation road.

Witnesses and CHP tell KION News that a 17 year old Salinas man was driving a silver Hyundai car at a high rate of speed around a corner when he lost control and hit a utility pick-up truck head on. The driver of a truck is a 31 year old Seaside man.

The 17 year old was taken to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment, the 31 year old was taken to the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula.

CHP does not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
