Posted: Updated:

HOLLISTER, Calif. - The Hollister Police Department is investigating three shootings that occurred within eighteen hours.

The first shooting took place at about 6:41 p.m. on Saturday April 23, in the 800 block of Line Street. Witnesses reported seeing a black Chrysler 300 pull up to the area. Someone from inside the vehicle shot several times at a Hispanic male who was seated on a bicycle, in front of the Head Start Building. The vehicle then fled the scene. Witnesses said the victim was not injured and that he left the area on his bicycle.

The second incident occurred later that same evening at about 1:25 a.m. in the 1000 block of Sherwood Drive. A single shot was fired into a residence. A resident happened to be walking in the hallway of his house, and was struck in the elbow by the bullet. The wound was superficial and the victim refused medical treatment.

The third shooting took place at 11:09 a.m. the following morning in the 1400 block of Westside Boulevard. A newer white Chevrolet Tahoe, lowered with black or chrome wheels, drove up to a group of young males. The vehicle slowed and one of the suspects asked the young men about their gang affiliation. The driver of the vehicle fired several shots at them before fleeing the area. The victims were not injured and have refused to cooperate with police in the investigation.

All three shootings appear to be gang related. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is requested to contact Detective David Anderson at 636-4330. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
