MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. - Just days before learning his fate for raping a woman, a Pacific Grove businessman is charged with rape again. On Wednesday, the Monterey County District Attorney filed new charges against convicted rapist and registered sex offender Thomas Pollacci. Pollacci already faced 8 years behind bars; if he's convicted on these new charges he could spend another 24 years in prison.
Central Coast New found out Wednesday, Pollacci faces three more rape charges for raping two women. The alleged attacks happened in April 2007 and the Fall of 2008. A few weeks ago, a jury convicted him for raping a woman in April 2008. That means one of the new alleged attacks happened after the rape he was just convicted of. During Pollacci's three week trial, several women came forward and testified the registered sex offender raped them too. However, at the time Pollacci was only on trial for raping a woman in his family's liquor store in 2008. Pollacci pled guilty to sexual battery in 1992.
Wednesday night, Central Coast News tried to talk about the new charges with Pollacci's attorneys, but was told they aren't going to comment until they read through all the new charges.
