Monterey, Calif.-Several community members volunteered their time to raise money for Chelsie Hill." Helping any way we could just to rally up and do what we can for our own in the community,"said Tanya Moore." For the community to come together and help support me it means a lot,"said Chelsie Hill.
In February, Chelsea suffered severe spinal cord injuries after being involved in a suspected DUI car accident. And now her family has to pay pricey medical bills said Tanya Moore, a family friend. " There are medical expenses that are not covered and its life long expenses"said Moore.
Many people donated money and participated in a silent auction. Chelsie even received a special wheel chair so she can enjoy the beach. She got a lot of emotional support as well. She was extra sensitive when her dance team performed for her." These are the dances we were working on right before the accident, I remember them. It means a lot to me," said Hill.
Chelsie said she is healing slowly. But the community's support is keeping her strong. " I am just thankful for everyone that came out and helping support this,"said Hill.
