MONTEREY, Calif- A car crash involving a scooter sent one man to the hospital Thursday night in the city. According to police, it happened around 8:30 p.m. off Del Monte Boulevard and Sloat.

The driver of the scooter, Sanchez Martinez, had leg injuries and was taken to CHOMP. The driver of the other car was not hurt. Nonetheless, it created a traffic backup, both east bound and west bound lanes were shut down for 20 minutes.
