Update: As expected Jesse Crow has entered a plea of not-Guilty.
SALINAS, Calif- 33 year-old Jesse Crow has been charged with the murder of his wife, 23 year-old Ryann Bunnell Crow. He was in court Monday at 1:30 PM to enter the not guilty plea.
The District Attorney's office says that they received the evidence report from the Salinas Police on February 16. After working over the weekend and talking with police as recently as Sunday night, they have determined that there is tremendous evidence to warrant the murder charge.
A win for Jesse Crow came in court Monday when a judge granted the request by his attorney to allow media to only broadcast video of Crow from his neck up. His attorney, Tom Worthington, told Central Coast News that "a picture is worth a thousand words and the more often a media image is published of someone wearing restraints and a jail jumpsuit the more an impression is left with prospective jurors, that's a negative impression, it's human nature."
Ryann was reported missing to the Salinas Police Department on February 2 when she failed to report to work. She was last seen January 30 in the Prunedale area. From the complaint filed, police believe that Ryann was murdered on January 30th.
The Salinas Police Department, Department of Justice and the Monterey County Sheriff's Office are continuing their investigations. The District Attorney's Office remains in communication with Ryann's family. Monday, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office told us that they are continuing their daily search for Ryann's body.
