Deputies Looking For Ryann When Pot Garden Discovered

Posted: Updated:

SALINAS, Calif-  Salinas police held a news conference in regards to the presumed murder of Ryann Bunnell Crow, who was last seen on January 30.

Sheriff Mike Kanalakis says that deputies went to Jesse Crow's Prunedale home on February 2 asking about his missing wife, Ryann, when they found his pot growing operation.

Kanalakis called it a "strategical investigative move" to not arrest Crow at that time for the marijuana.

The sheriff's office says they will take the lead in the seach for Ryann's body, but would not give a specific location of interest.  Police say they are not following any new leads in Foster City where her car was found.

Investigators say they have turned over a 2" thick packet to the district attorney's office full of evidence implicating Jesse Crow in his wife's murder.

After the news conference, Crow's attorney, Tom Worthington said that he thought releasing even as much information as the police did, was a mistake.

He believes giving his client the right to a fair and unbiased trial is hard to do with how much media attention has already been given to this case.

Corw's girlfriend, Summer Donovan, is still being named a "person of interest" for police and Friday Central Coast News learned that she had very recently hired an attorney.
