Two-Week South Monterey County Missing Man Search Suspended - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

GORDA, Calif. - Search teams conducted Sunday a final all-out effort in south Monterey County to find a missing San Luis Obispo man; the day ended with no indication of the man's location.

Teams from both the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and San Luis Obispo Police headed to an area near Fort Hunter Liggett for the second weekend in a row in hopes of finding 74 year-old George Carpenter, who has been missing since December 23.  According to the Monterey County Search and Rescue team, the weekend's attempts led to no further indication of Carpenter's whereabouts.  The search for Carpenter shifted to the area after his Jeep was spotted there last Saturday.

Officials say the search has been suspended pending further investigative leads.
