Pro-Pot Groups to Protest Dispensary Shutdown

Posted:

MONTEREY, Calif. - An organization in support of medical marijuana use is planning to protest Monterey's cease-and-desist order against the My Care Giver dispensary.

The Foundation to End Drug Unfairness Policies--or FED UP--announced Sunday several other groups will join a protest to take place ahead of the Monterey City Council meeting on Tuesday.

"Monterey County needs a local medical marijuana facility for people too ill to drive to San Jose or Santa Cruz," said Lawrence Samuels, chair of the Libertarian Party of Monterey County. "If we don't come out and support this co-op, the city of Monterey might permanently ban My Caregiver."
