SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -

Santa Cruz police are investigating a crash that left a car partially submerged in a lagoon Monday.

According to police, a 25-year-old unlicensed driver drove her car through a fence and into the lagoon near the Live Oak branch library on Portola Drive near 24th Avenue. She was able to get out of the car safely and was taken to the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
